A Butler sink is a practical essential, but in Carrara marble it becomes a statement of craftsmanship and luxury. This single‑sized design is expertly carved and polished by hand, showcasing the soft veining and cool tones that make Carrara one of the world’s most sought‑after stones.

Perfect for contemporary, traditional, country or minimalist kitchens, this sink blends durability with natural beauty. The dense marble structure offers excellent longevity, while the smooth interior surface is easy to clean and maintain. Because every block of Carrara marble is naturally unique, your sink will feature its own individual veining and character — a one‑of‑a‑kind centrepiece for your home.

1. Weight & Support Requirements

Carrara marble sinks are extremely heavy and must be installed on a fully supported base.

  • Use a solid cabinet carcass, stone frame, or reinforced timber support.

  • The sink must sit on continuous support across the entire base, not on corner blocks.

  • Ensure the structure can safely bear the sink’s weight plus water load.

2. Level & Positioning

  • The supporting frame must be perfectly level before placing the sink.

  • Use felt pads or thin rubber shims if micro‑adjustments are needed.

  • Avoid sliding the sink into position — lift and place to prevent scratching.

3. Waste & Plumbing Fittings

  • Install the waste without overtightening to avoid stressing the marble.

  • Use a high‑quality silicone seal between the waste flange and the stone.

  • Ensure all plumbing connections are aligned and supported to prevent strain.

4. Sealing & Edge Protection

  • Apply a bead of neutral‑cure silicone around the perimeter where the sink meets the worktop or cabinet.

  • Do not use rigid adhesives or expanding foam.

  • For undermount installations beneath stone worktops, ensure the fabricator uses proper stone‑to‑stone bonding methods and adequate support rails.

5. Worktop Integration

  • If installing with stone worktops, the fabricator should measure the sink in person.

  • Allow for slight dimensional variation due to hand‑finishing.

  • Ensure cut‑outs and overhangs are templated accurately for a clean, flush fit.

6. Handling & Safety

  • Always lift with two or more people.

  • Use protective blankets or foam when placing the sink on hard surfaces.

  • Avoid resting the sink on its edges or corners.

7. Final Checks

  • Confirm the sink is level and fully supported.

  • Check all silicone seals are smooth and continuous.

  • Run water to ensure no leaks around the waste or perimeter.
