When fixing a material externally, the choice of whether to seal or not becomes one of personal preference combined with considerations of the installation environment. Many people choose to leave the stone tiles unsealed and let it weather naturally with time. As it weathers the stone will gain character and develop a look all its own. If sealing is required then a combination of Fila Hydrorep & Fila FOB should be used, although it is imperative that adequate provision for drainage is allowed. Sandstone is an extremely porous material so if sealing, a large quantity of stone tile sealer will be required.
