Sealing & Treatment
We recommend Fila MP90 Eco Xtreme for sealing and protecting the tiles.
- Apply generously before grouting
- Allow at least two hours between coats
- Wipe excess with a soft, lint‑free cloth
- Full resistance achieved after three days
Grouting
- Always seal tiles before grouting
- Do not use coloured grout (may cause permanent staining)
- Apply grout with a spatula, keeping it below tile level
- Remove excess immediately with a damp cloth
- Avoid acidic or corrosive cleaners
Installation
- Ensure the substrate is perfectly level, clean, and completely dry. Never install on fresh or damp concrete, as moisture can cause white saltpetre deposits.
- Leave a small expansion gap at the perimeter, hidden by skirting, to prevent stress cracks from structural movement.
- Apply adhesive to both the substrate and the back of each tile using a fine‑tooth rake comb (double‑spread method).
- Place tiles manually, one by one, without using a hammer or tapping tool. Cement tiles cannot be polished down after installation, so precision is essential.
- Maintain a 1–2 mm joint and ensure alignment for a clean, continuous pattern.
- Once the adhesive has dried, wash the surface thoroughly to remove the fine pigmented residue.
Treatment
- Before grouting, apply Fila MP90 Eco Xtreme with a soft cloth or brush.
- After one hour, buff the surface with a soft, lint‑free cloth to achieve an even finish.
- Allow two hours between coats; full curing takes three days.
Grouting
- Apply an impregnating sealant before grouting to prevent pigment absorption.
- Use non‑dyed grout only.
- Fill joints with a spatula, keeping grout below tile level.
- Remove excess grout immediately with a damp cloth.
- Avoid acidic or corrosive cleaning products.
